The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit

This program allows you to recieve a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your Arizona state income tax when you give to Habitat for Humanity Yuma, or any other qualifying organization. For those filing a single tax return, your tax credit can be up to $200; For those filing jointly, it is up to $400. This means money you would otherwise pay in taxes can benefit your neighbors instead!

How does it work?

To take advantage of this tax credit:

  • Donate to an organization that serves the working poor. Habitat qualifies!
  • Prepare your taxes, itemizing your charitable contributions. Complete AZ Form 321 and include it with your state tax forms.

It's that easy!

What does this mean to me?

It costs you nothing to donate to the good work of Habitat for Humanity of Yuma!

A tax credit reduces your final tax liability. It comes right off the top of your state tax bill, lowering the amount of money you will pay / or increase your refund.
Although your charitable contributions increase, your tax liability is decreased by the same amount - up to $400 if filing jointly; $200 if filing a single tax return.

The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit for organizations that serve the working poor is different from the tax credit you can receive for supporting private school tuition. veteran's credit and public school extra-curricular activities. You are eligible to receive dollar-for-dollar tax credits for all four.

Remember:

You must compete and include AZ Form 321 with your state tax forms in order to receive a tax credit for your donation.

Habitat Yuma will automatically send an AZ Form 321 along with an acknowledgement letter when you put "tax credit" in the memo line of your donation check.
The form is also available from your tax preparer.

The Magic of Habitat

Every day, Habitat for Humanity Yuma is turning houses into homes.

We know that a safe and decent home can change everything for a family. Children feel free to bring friends home to play, their grades improve and the opportunity for college becomes a reality.

Instead of worrying about housing, families begin to consider higher education for their children and employment training for themselves. They have more time to volunteer with their neighborhood oragnizations.

Habitat families become taxpaying neighbors who value their homes and their neighborhoods.

Habitat for Humanity Yuma creates opportunities for homeownership.

Your contribution will help local families achieve the American Dream.
